Laser Tripwire circuit / photoresistor tutorial

175 726 @ Hey, why does not my circuit? I have the MOSFET as shown in Chart … the source of resistance (400 ohms) can not put the drain through an entrance on the other side of the LED and the door is photresistor, what I do wrong?

In addition to the post: a laser door or alarm “trip wire” you need to speed on off / even with a duty cycle of 50%, but increase the frequency. 50% duty cycle @ 1Hz (500ms on/500ms off), the power of 50% at 2 Hz (250ms/250ms off), 50%, etc. .. at some point it is not even see some flickering. There is one problem with it. Most laser diodes life 1.14yrs 5.7yrs limited continuous operation. while it is a little more work, you should use a microcontroller to 500ms on, check your entry (CDS cell) and conditional loops, then set the output high and low for the MOSFET, and then turn it off 500th ms This will actually double the life, you can add more delays. This is essentially square wave PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) with a duty cycle of 50% to a very low frequency (1 Hz).
